Brew Gallery's latest exhibition in downtown Vernon features photographs by Jessica DeBruin of Armstrong BC. Through her photographs, Jessica expresses her strong interest and relationship with her community. Community Fall Photos features Jessica's recent seasonal photography from 2011 and 2012.

The exhibition is presented jointly by Brew Gallery and Kindale Developmental Association. Says Gary Arbuckle, Kindale's Director of Services and co-curator of the exhibition, the show captures and reflects Jessica's “personal perception of what our community has to offer”.

Brew Gallery was founded by River Lewis in 2011 with an informal mandate to be inclusive and create more opportunities and promotion for artists to connect with the community. To date, Brew Gallery has presented nineteen art exhibitions featuring fifty-one artists from the Okanagan and across Canada.

Community Fall Photos is on display at Brew Gallery from November 19 to December 16, 2012. Brew Gallery is located in Downtown Vernon inside the Bean To Brew Coffee House, next door to the Vernon Public Art Gallery.

On exhibit at downtown Vernon's Brew Gallery and Cafe, next door to VPAG is a collection of dusky, arcane and mysterious images which make up the gallery's latest show, NOIRE 2. Following in the dark footprints of last year's Noire exhibit, thirteen artists were selected from submissions to the themed open call for artwork.

Featured are paintings, photographs, drawings, and digital compositions by Kara Barkved, Carol Hermesh, Michael Hermesh, Christine Kashuba, Jackie Lowrie, Corey Mazurat, Petrina McNeill, Martha Moore, Sarah Parsons, Denise Patrick, Sylvia Scriver, Theresa Stranack and Sharlene Wallis.

The Brew Gallery in Downtown Vernon BC and is pleased to announce this opportunity for artists to participate in it's annual show 'Noire'.

Deadline for submission is Monday October 15. Please submit 1-3 photos of your dark(noire) images with hidden, emerging or mysterious subject matter suitable for an all ages audience. Suitable media includes ready-to-hang, 2-dimensional works in photography, digital art, drawing, painting, mixed media.

EXHIBITION DATES: September 17 to October 18, 2012

On exhibit at downtown Vernon's Brew Gallery and Cafe, next door to VPAG is a joint show by artists Michael Hermesh and Carol Hermesh from Summerland. Featured are 24 intimate photographs by Carol Hermesh, capturing husband Michael's sculptures and previewing his upcoming show at Vancouver's Petley Jones Gallery in November.

Known for his figurative sculptures, Michael has delivered lyrical fantasy wrapped in the tension of human existence in works such as The Conversation, Item of Value, and The Window Shopper. He describes life as dynamic and a struggle, while the living postures and faces of his 3D work can nurture awareness for the viewer and moments of compassion. Michael Hermesh's drawings, paintings, and sculpture will be on display at Petley Jones Gallery in Vancouver BC from November 8 to November 29, 2012.

OPENING RECEPTION March 20th OFF THE HILL - CHRISTINE KASHUBA NEW MONOPRINTS


Brew Gallery invites you and a friend to celebrate the opening of Christine Kashuba's new exhibition Off The Hill, a series of one-of-a-kind monoprints on paper on the theme of spring training and baseball.

The artworks were created by throwing baseballs at the paper and printing plate, building unique textures through the artist's printing technique reminiscent of action painting. Titles like Knuckle Ball, Chin Music, and Rain Delay among others make for a special reveal to the viewer upon investigation.

Opening reception at the Brew Gallery is on Tuesday March 20th, from 6pm to 8pm. Come join the fun, bring a friend, and meet the artists. The Brew Gallery is an equal opportunity gallery located in downtown Vernon, next door to the Vernon Public Art Gallery.

The Brew Gallery now enters its second year of exhibitions in Downtown Vernon BC and is pleased to announce a call for submissions and opportunity for artists to participate in its 11th show 'Rouge'.

February is coming and romance is in the air! What does red mean to you? Whether it is romance, passion, fire, life-force or power, Brew Gallery is accepting submissions of 2-dimensional works in photography, digital art, drawing, painting or mixed media based on your interpretation of the theme ‘Rouge’. All subject matter must be suitable for an all-ages audience.

Please submit 1-5 images of your red(rouge) and/or romance inspired artwork. Suitable media includes 2-dimensional works in photography, digital art, drawing, painting, mixed media.

IN THE BREW GALLERY FIRESIDE ROOM


The Brew Gallery's Fireside Room is now featuring a new exhibit by Vernon artist Angelika Jaeger. Using a primary colour palette in her Color is Power series, Jaeger references the female form with subtle artistic line in 'Female Flower' and continues the series with images titled 'Flower Power' and 'Power Color'. The three original artworks were created with mixed media techniques and acrylic on 24"x24" canvasses. Three more artworks are also on display from her Migration series until February 2nd.

2 BOLD NEW EXHIBITS AT BREW GALLERY


On exhibit from January 4 to February 2, 2012 are two bold exhibits from Okanagan artists Ed Eaton of Summerland and Anjelika Jaeger of Vernon.

'SATISFACTION' features 20 edition prints on canvas by Eaton in Brew Gallery's Main Gallery. The work was chosen by Curator River Lewis from a decade's production of computer-aided mixed media process. Eaton brings scanned material textures, found objects, and virtual spaces into a collection of lively and flexible storylines.

'COLOUR IS POWER' features 6 handmade works on canvas by Anjelika Jaeger in the Brew Gallery's Fireside Room. The theme of colour relating to personal energy and vitality anchors Jaeger's mixed media process with line, shape, and predominant use of primary colour in the Color Is Power Series exhibited. Also featured is work from the artist's Migration Series.
